What was your original motivation to become a researcher?
“My motivation lays in decreasing the complexity for people to grasp the behaviour of complex digital systems. I have ICT background, and I recognize that many physical systems are now being controlled by IT solutions. To help to bring these IT solutions to the society, to work with cutting edge technologies and apply them to optimize complex systems drives me in my research.”
What is your (main) research area today?
“We as people need to adapt to changing circumstances every day. Digital systems also need to be able to adapt automatically as well. It is especially a challenge for the distributed complex systems of systems. I am looking into adaptive Digital Twin which have distributed nature and consist of the components with their own behavior. These components need to be optimized and adapted in right manner.”
What is the main focus of your team in ZEFES?
“My team in ZEFES is responsible to provide a distributed platform for Digital Twins and tools, coming from different organizations. Our platform is an integration point for data coming from the trucks from all use-cases, and the Digital tools which are useful for the fleet management and predictive maintenance. We tackle security and isolation issues for dataset and model owners to guarantee that sensitive data is being reached only by authorized organizations and people.”
From all your activities within the project, what are you the most proud of/keen to share with the public?
“I am proud that we are able to support the running of all five digital tools which logistics companies intend to use for their operations. We elaborated secure authorization mechanism which allows for dataset and models owners to control the access to their digital assets through our platform.”
How do you expect the ZEFES results will impact your organisation and the transport sector in Europe?
“Transport sector has complex nature with many different types of the business actors. With the platform we elaborated in ZEFES, our organization can play an integrational role to support the secure authorized data sharing between the partners and digital tools from different organizations for varied needs from transport sector.”
