CPAC Systems
Organisation Introduction
Our goal is to harness the power of cutting-edge technology, allowing vehicles to operate at their full potential while improving working conditions for operators.
CPAC Systems has provided innovation to Volvo Group companies for more than 2 decades. This has given us a solid ground to also offer our solutions and expertise to OEMs and operators outside the Volvo Group.
With a strong focus on differentiating technology, we have cultivated a portfolio of cutting-edge products, functions, and services that drive progress and bring efficiency to the world of commercial vehicles, off-highway equipment and marine vessels. These versatile building blocks can be seamlessly integrated and adapted to diverse applications, fostering cost-effective development and groundbreaking innovation in emerging fields and changing contexts.
Why ZEFES?
CPAC Systems brings advanced engineering expertise, particularly in developing modular and flexible vehicle platforms. This aligns perfectly with the overarching mission of the ZEFES project to reduce the carbon footprint of long-haul freight transport. Especially in the areas of vehicle control systems, Human-Machine Interface as well as connected solutions, CPAC brings valuable expertise and a well-suited product and solution portfolio to add value to the project and support the different project partners as well as other relevant stakeholders.
The purpose and objectives of the ZEFES project resonate in an excellent way with CPAC’s strategic objective of conceiving, developing and demonstrating innovative automotive solutions which significantly contribute to a sustainable society.
What in ZEFES?
CPAC will contribute to the development of a standardized connection and control interface between trucks and e-trailers. This includes the physical connection, a suitable driver interface and the communication protocols between controllers of truck and e-trailer. CPAC will also develop an interface control unit to secure the optimal operation of a vehicle combination with an e-trailer for vehicle configurations having distributed and integrated e-powertrains.
Based on the established safety goals, CPAC’s input will also help to derive functional safety requirements with the goal of describing how safety is achieved on a functional level. Volvo and CPAC will translate these requirements into a relating specific technical implementation on the complete vehicle combinations and provide input to the homologation process.
“At CPAC Systems, we are honored and excited to participate in such a transcendental initiative as the ZEFES project. With a steadfast commitment to innovation and a relentless pursuit of excellence, we are happy to contribute to the transition to more sustainable and intelligent mobility solutions.”
