Why ZEFES?
Scania’s purpose is to drive the shift towards sustainable transport. This includes working with efficiency, renewable fuels and electrification as well as smart and safe transport. Scania is investing in electrification and has already solutions for urban and regional emission free transport. Already in 2030, 50% of our sales volume should be electrified vehicles.
Next step in our development journey is to find solutions also for long haulage.. In the ZEFES project we will test both BEV and FC solutions for this segment and this will be an important contribution to our own development.
What in ZEFES?
Scania will operate two battery electric trucks and one fuel cell truck in different applications across Europe. Scania will investigate the feasibility of a trailer with its own battery where the purpose it to increase the vehicle range and finally develop a tractor for an extra high trailer which requires a lowliner solution where the connection to the trailer is lower than usual
